Welcome to Personal Leaves and More. I hope you've enjoyed looking through all the pages.
I so enjoy creating keepsake jewelry pieces using leaves of various shapes, sizes, and most importantly, sentimental meaning.
I was originally drawn to silversmithing by a friend. Her pieces were so beautiful and she assured me that I, too, would be able to learn and create. I joined the Ottawa Lapsmith and Mineral Club and, with the help of very kind and knowledgeable members, thoroughly enjoyed my new hobby. It was here I was introduced to the world of silver and copper metal clay. It wasn't too long before I had quite a collection of my own pieces and was being asked to make pieces for others. This was perfect because although I do love the process and results, my jewelry box was getting quite full! Of course, I'm still adding to it.
I would be happy to discuss any project you may have in mind for yourself or someone else, or answer any questions you may have. Also, if there are any pieces you would like to purchase from the pages marked as available, I can be reached using the contact form or contact information below.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can dried leaves be used?
Unfortunately if the leaves are dried and brittle, they will not hold up to the painting or rolling process. Dried stems are certainly usable. Please see the stem pendants and ear rings on the "Personal" Page. I would be very happy to look at any material you would wish to use.
How do you keep leaves fresh?
Leaves will stay fresh enough to use if they are kept in a ziplock bag with a damp paper towel in the fridge, depending on the leaf, for a surprisingly long time.
What is the turn around time?
I usually allow for 3 weeks to complete pendants.
What is the cost?
The price depends on the size and type of leaf, the amount of silver clay used and the complexity of the piece so without seeing what I would be working with, I'm afraid I can't quote a price. I can tell you that most of the pieces on my website are between $55-$125.

My question: Why would anyone press those keepsake leaves between the pages of a book
when they can be worn as unique silver jewelry pieces.

October's Party October gave a party; The leaves by hundreds came, The Chestnuts, Oaks, and Maples, And leaves of every name. The Sunshine spread a carpet, And everything was grand, Miss Weather led the dancing, Professor Wind the band. The Chestnuts came in yellow; The Oaks in crimson dressed; The lovely Misses Maple, In purple, looked their best. All balanced to their partners, And gayly fluttered by; The sight was like a rainbow New fallen from the sky. George Cooper |
