Wedding Keepsakes
Anik and Eric's beautiful Jamaican Destination Wedding. Along with the rose leafs in her bouquet, we discovered a broken leaf in the shape of a heart. It was too perfect to resist and became an additional pendant. These before and after photos show some of the original leaves, their clay state and the final silver pieces.
Unfortunately (or, as it turned out, fortunately) by the time Jane heard about my work, the leaves on her nieces wedding bouquet had dried and were too brittle for me to use to create a pendant. However, I noticed the rose stems had lines, resulting in an interesting texture. I suggested that although I had never tried it, I would be happy to see what I could do with the stem. This is the pendant/earring set Jane was able to give her niece who was thrilled with the surprise. |

Family Trees
Nina purchased a begonia leaf pendant from a craft fair I was attending. At that time I explained the process and the "custom" aspect of pieces which interested her. She kept the business card I gave her. Months later, she contacted me, explained that she was in the process of moving, and was hoping I could help her with a keepsake. Nina's maternal grandfather had given her a catapla sapling 17 years ago. This little tree turned out to be quite a challenge as it didn't seem to thrive in a number of different locations. Eventually the catalpa was moved to the perfect spot and it flourished and grew into a gorgeous tree, admired by neighbours and visitors alike. Nina brought me a couple of small leaves and a bean shaped pod. These are her sentimental pieces. - a leaf and a pod pendant for herself and the other leaf as a Christmas gift for her mother. |
Willow Tree
In 1953 this willow tree came to be Lovingly planted by a young couple for all to enjoy and see Beneath this willow tree that sways gently in the wind One can hear the whispers from the many lives within Its long, beautiful iridescent branches of gold and green Providing years of comfort and shade for you and for me Many years have come and gone, many lives passed too...But This willow tree stands, by the river sands To mark the spot that was created by those loving hands. This poem was written by Maureen Jullion and later inscribed on a bronze plaque which now sits in front of a very special willow tree in Coventry Gardens, Windosr, ON. The poem tells the story of the now majestic tree which was originally planted by her parents when she was a young child. Maureen's daughter Jodie originally contacted me to create a pendant for her and her mother using willow leaves from this tree. Maureen was so touched, she commissioned me to create more pendants for all the girls in her and her sister's families. These are to be very sentimental Christmas gifts! |

Personal Mementos
This may not be a leaf but it is a very personal pendant. Patty D. commissioned this piece as gift for her friend to wear on her wedding day in memory of her Mother. Her Mother had recently passed away and the two of them always shared the breaking of a wishbone. Although it can't be seen in the photograph, I placed a tiny heart at the joint of the two bones. I was told tears were shed when the gift was given. I love creating pieces with special meaning. |
My Personal Leaves
I have a number of personal leaves, each one with it's special meaning.

Fingerprints
Fingerprints a mother loves. Kristie is very happy to wear Avery and Jack's fingerprints - an alternative to artwork on the walls! Much preferable to smudges on fridges. See more design options here |
